Hits, v2
How about this:
- Normal PCs have 3 light hits, 2 medium, 1 heavy
- When you take a hit, and you're all out of hits of that level, it "rolls up" by one
- Above heavy is a single "hit" representing "disabled"
- Above disabled is a single "hit" representing "dying"
- Critical hits upgrade damage by one category
- Soak skill downgrades hits by one if roll exceeds DC
- Armor downgrades damage automatically, splitting it between you and the armor
- e.g. One suit of armor might downgrade damage by one hit, so when you take a medium hit, you and the armor instead take one light hit each (stops working if the armor runs out of hits)
- Armor penetration is a chance to ignore armor when applying hits
- Minions have just one generic hit
- Elites have a bonus hit in each category per "affix"
- e.g. a +4 elite has 7/6/5
